THE REAL TALK
IS MY CEILING BOX RATED FOR A FAN?
Maybe not. A box installed to hold a light fixture is built for a few pounds of dead weight. A fan is heavier, and it moves. Hang one on the wrong box and it works fine for a while, then it starts to wobble, then it starts to loosen.
We look before we hang. If the box is fan-rated, we install. If it is not, you hear it from us first along with what it takes to fix it.
VAULTED CEILINGS AND COLORADO WINTERS
Colorado homes love a vaulted great room, and heat rises straight to the top of it. A fan hung at the right height, run in reverse on low through the winter, pushes that warm air back down where you actually live.
That only works if the downrod is the right length for the pitch and the height. Too short and the blades fight the ceiling. Too long and it hangs in your sightline. We size it to the room before it goes up.

COMMON QUESTIONS
-
How much does ceiling fan installation cost in Colorado Springs?
It depends on the job. Replacing an existing fan on a standard ceiling is the simplest install. Swapping a light fixture for a fan, a vaulted or high ceiling, or a heavy fan takes more. We quote the job up front so you know the number before we start. Call (719) 426-2613 or book online. -
Can you replace a light fixture with a ceiling fan?
Yes, when the box in the ceiling is rated for a fan. Many boxes installed for a light are not, and a fan hung on one will eventually loosen or fall. We check the box first and tell you exactly what we find before anything goes up. -
Do you install ceiling fans on vaulted or sloped ceilings?
Yes. Vaulted great rooms are everywhere in Colorado homes. A sloped ceiling needs an angled mount and the right downrod so the blades clear the ceiling and the fan hangs straight. We size the downrod to the room before we hang it. -
How high of a ceiling can you work on?
We work high great-room and entryway ceilings regularly and bring the ladders to do it. If a ceiling is tall enough to need lift equipment, we will tell you when you book, not when we show up. -
Do you run new wiring for a ceiling fan?
No. We install fans where the wiring and box are already in place, whether that is an old fan or a light fixture. If you need a new circuit or a wall switch added, we can recommend an electrician. We stay focused on the install itself. -
Do I need to buy the fan first?
Most customers buy the fan they want and we install it. Not sure what to get? Tell us the room size and ceiling height and we will tell you what blade span and downrod length make sense. -
Can you install a ceiling fan and mount a TV in the same visit?
Yes. Plenty of customers book both, especially when they are setting up a new home or finishing a room. Mention both when you book and we plan the visit around it.
